News Community Macon Bank’s Banking on a Cure Fundraiser

Macon Bank’s 2nd Annual Banking on a Cure 5k run/walk and 1 mile walk will be held on Saturday, April 13, at the Greenway, Tassee Shelter in Franklin.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. at the shelter. The start/finish line will be in front of the parking lot at the Tassee Shelter (corner of Wells Grove Road and Ulco Drive), next to the Little Tennessee River. The 1 mile walk will start at 8 a.m. and will go towards downtown (to the left), for ½ mile, then return.

The registration fee is $15 (make checks payable to the American Cancer Society). All registered finishers of the 1 mile walk will receive a gift from the American Cancer Society. The 5k run/walk will start at 8:30 a.m. and will go toward the SCC campus, under the 441 by-pass.

The registration fee is $20.The 5k run/walk, prizes will be presented to the first male and female individuals in 6 age groups: 19 & under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.

All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life. Water and fruit will be available after the race. For more information, contact Sherry Sitton at (828)524-7000, ext. 2449.
