News Community 17th annual Shrimp Boil

The 17th annual Habitat for Humanity Shrimp Boil was held on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. The event was held to benefit Habitat for Humanity Macon/Jackson.

Volunteers prepared 450 lbs. of shrimp for nearly 500 guests along with all the fixings.

A new royal court was crowned. Joe Suminski was crowned Shrimp Boil King, downing 38 shrimp in five minutes. Jay Bueck was named Shrimp Prince eating 38 shrimp. Shrimp Queen Madison Bueck ate 26 shrimp in five minutes. Co-princesses and sisters, Cholie and Colby Westerman ate four shrimp each.

All proceeds from the event go to help building projects in Macon and Jackson counties.
