Highlands Road merchants will be passing out candy and giving free hayrides from 3 to 6 p.m.
Franklin's Main Street program will host the annual PumpkinFest on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a pumpkin roll, screaming contest, costume parade, pie eating contest and trick or treating with merchants.
Pinegrove Baptist Church will be hosting a fall festival, from 3 to 6 p.m. Pony rides, hayrides, multiple bounce houses, games, food, costume contest and much more.
Macon County Parks and Recreation is hosting haunted hayrides at the Parker Meadows property from 7 to 9 p.m. Regular hayrides will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.The cost is $2 per person for people over 5 years of age, with proceeds going to the Special Olympics.
American Legion Post 108 will hold a Halloween dance from 8 to 11 p.m. at 614 West Main Street. Cash prizes for best costume, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Music provided by Johnny Webb and the JW Band.
Fidelia Eckerd Living Center at the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Campus will be hosting a fall festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a costume contest, cake walk, hayrides, treat or treating, pumpkin decorating contest, face painting, llama petting zoo, loads of games, great music, and fabulous food. Lunch available for $5 per plate. Corn Dog, cole slaw, potato salad, or chips and tea, lemonade, or bottled water, and a funnel cake.
The Macon County Public Library in Franklin will host a Halloween themed storytime and trick or treat costume parade at 10 a.m. Children are encouraged to come to storytime dressed in costume.
After storytime, children will trick or treat through the library. This program is geared for children ages 3-5. However, children of all ages are invited to come to this event. Storytimes are held at the library every Monday and Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Highlands Nature Center will host a Halloween Enchanted Forest Nature Trail from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Group Tours leave every 15 minutes. Bring a flashlight to go early trick-or-treating along the Botanical Garden trails. Encounter friendly forest creatures portrayed by students of the UNC Institute for the Environment and learn interesting facts about each one. Fun and educational for all ages; $1 per person.
Macon County Parks and Recreation will be holding Halloween in the Park from 5 to 8 p.m.
Franklin Fire and Rescue will be holding their annual Boo Bash from 7 to 9 p.m. at the fire station.
Coweeta Baptist Church will be hosting a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
Halloween in Highlands will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Highlands.
Mulligans Bar and Grille will host a Halloween party with live music and a costume contest on October 31 and November 1.
Macon County CareNet will be handing out candy at their office on 130 Bidwell St. from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Cartoogechaye Baptist Church will be having a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
Cowee Baptist Church will have a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
East Franklin Baptist Church will host a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
West Macon Fire Department will host its annual Fall Festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Free hot dog dinner, cake walk, costume contests, raffles and door prizes.
Jackson County Parks and Recreation will host the annual Pumpkin Patch Trail from 7 to 9 p.m. at the recreation center in Cullowhee for ages 10 and under. Bring nonperishable food items (i.e. soup, rice, mac and cheese) to help those in need in the community. All items will go to the Community Table.
New Savannah Baptist will be holding a trunk or treat from 6 to 8 p.m.
Sylva's Downtown Association will be hosting “treat street” on Sylva's Main Street from 2 to 5 p.m.
Grace Community Church will be holding its annual fall festival at 5 p.m.
Jackson County Parks and Recreation will host a Halloween Egg Haunt and costume contest for ages 10 and under at Mark Watson Park. Egg haunt event starts at 7 p.m.
