Sixty-one racers competed in this year's CareNet Feed the Need 5K and Conquer the Mountain Half Marathon. The event was created to raise money and collect food for CareNet to distribute to the community, as well as help other charities in the community. Runners donated 198 pounds of canned foods and were able to raise $591.24.
The event featured water stations placed throughout the Greenway and the organization with the best water station, which was voted on by the runners, will receive a proceed of next year's race. This year's water station winner was the Macon County Humane Society.
