The first night of Franklin's annual Winter Wonderland event on Main Street was greeted by unusually warm weather and slight rain sprinkles. Despite the seasonally confused weather, folks gathered the sidewalks to enjoy local shopping, amazing holiday themed window displays, and new this year, a Gingerbread Competition.
Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, town hall was filled with entires from the first annual Gingerbread Competition.
This year's winners are:
Grand Champion: Laurie Beegle
2nd place: Revonda Roten
3rd place: Mickey McIver & Susan McGrath
Honorable Mention: Lisa Marling

Adult Children/Youth Winners:
The People's Choice winner in the competition will be announced next week. Folks can vote for their favorite house for the People’s Choice award again this Friday night at the Gingerbread House Display in the lower level of town hall.
Love lights a tree
During Friday’s Winter Wonderland event, Mary Beth Huston told of how she was overcoming cancer, for the annual Love Lights a Tree event.
All proceeds from the ornaments sold go to benefit Relay for Life of Franklin.
