News Community Waldroop family benefit Feb. 15

Family and friends of Julia Waldroop are hosting a fundraiser to help ease the cost of remodeling their home to make it handicap accessible for when her son, Sam, returns home. On Dec. 24, 2013, Sam Waldroop was in a car accident, that for now, has left him paralyzed. He is currently at Shepherd’s Rehab Facility in Atlanta, Ga., and Julia is staying there full time with him. The hope is for Sam to come home in mid-March to a home where he and his family can live out their day-to-day life with ease.

The Waldroop Family Benefit will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, at South Macon Elementary School starting at 4 p.m.

There will be a hamburger/hot dog dinner, silent auction, cake auction, raffle, kids games and a live DJ. Data managers at each school will have dinner tickets along with raffle tickets for pre-sale. If anyone would like to bake cookies to go with the meals, or help in baking cakes for the cake auction, contact Susie Ledford at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If anyone has additional questions or would like to volunteer their time at the benefit, contact Mark Sutton at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
