A new program, called “Fit and Fun,” is being offered by the Cowee Community Development Organization (CCDO) and might be just the thing to get you out of the house and back into being social again.
The CCDO, a local 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “preserve the heritage, quality of life, and beauty of Cowee Township,” is sponsoring the sessions. For more information about CCDO, visit www.coweenc.com.
Cindy McNair, a local fitness guru and expert on helping people have fun as they exercise, will be teaching weekly stress-free and low impact fitness sessions. Physical emphasis will be on gentle stretching, movement, and flexibility. Men and women of all fitness levels are invited. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.
The one-hour sessions will be held on Tuesdays, beginning April 1, at 10 a.m. at the Macon County Heritage Center located at the historic Cowee School at 51 Cowee School Drive, about seven miles north of Franklin off Hwy. 28 just across from the Cowee Convenience Center. All adults and especially seniors are invited to come out and experience some stress-free “senior exercise moments.”
