News Community Kiwanis learn about youth activities at the library

From toddlers to teens, children are invited to participate in activities all year long.

The library has formed reading and activity clubs for children of various ages.

  • The Adventure Club is for kindergarten to second grade.
  • A book club is for grades 3 – 5.
  • The Science Club is for kindergarten through grade 6.
  • A “Lego” club is open to kids of all ages.

At 10 a.m. every Monday morning is family time with story time for infants to five-year-olds.

The library also offers special events throughout the year. On March 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., games for kids are planned. Children are invited to a party and to dress like their favorite book character on March 29 at 10 a.m.

Cultural and educational programs are scheduled for the children throughout the year. The Franklin Gem and Mineral Society presents a hands-on gem cutting demonstration. The children plant and harvest a vegetable garden. Theater groups perform and clowns entertain.
