News Community Relay For Life 2014

Photos by Ellen BishopThe theme for this year’s Relay For Life was “All I Want For Christmas is a Cure for Cancer.”

Relay For Life is an annual event that is held to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer.

The Friday night event included special music, guest speakers, games and a Candlelight Ceremony.

Macon County is known district-wide for its high participation rate and vigorous fundraising. More than 40 teams raised more than $50,000 for the American Cancer Society.

According to organizers, this year’s event was the best one yet.
