Libraries are places for new beginnings. Whether you are getting your first library card, learning new computer skills or planning a trip, the library is the place where your story begins. This National Library Week, join the nation’s libraries and librarians and create your own story at your library.
The Fontana Regional Library is celebrating National Library Week in Jackson, Macon and Swain counties April 10-16. The Fontana Regional Library system announces the “Where Can Your Library Card Take You?” photo campaign. Library card holders may submit a photo showing how their library card has enriched their life. This event is open to all ages and photos will be accepted until April 30. Participants at each library will be entered into a drawing for a seven-inch Digital Photo Frame, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. The drawings to select the winners for each library will take place on May 4. Each library will display the photos submitted at that location and on the library’s website and Facebook.
“Every day, libraries across the country are helping people create their own unique stories,” says Karen Wallace, Fontana Regional Library Director. “Whether it is by opening a book and exploring distant lands, or by learning how to use new technologies to find a job, people at our library are creating new stories for themselves.”
