News Community Macon County Community Foundation taking grant applications

The board of advisors of the Macon County Community Foundation is currently accepting grant requests for community projects funded from its community fund, according to Regina Lupoli, grants chair.

Funds are available for nonprofit organizations that serve general charitable needs in Macon County. Grants range from $500 to $2,500.

Applications are available online beginning July 18. Visit nccommunityfoundation. org for information about applying. A new grant application is in use this year and training modules are available on the website. The deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 9, 2014.

The Macon County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The community fund was established to help support local charitable needs through annual grants. In addition to Lupoli, Macon County Community Foundation board members are Tom Ritter, Jim Breedlove, Derek Roland, Mandy Lail, Louise Henry, Michele Hubbs, Theresa Ramsey, Karen Stiwinter, and Pam Collins.
