Dr. Choi named 2011 Public Health Hero

As a part of April's celebration of Public Health Month, Dr. San Ho Choi (center) was honored by Macon County Public Health with the 2011 Public Health Hero award. Dr. Choi was recognized for his personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle, his work at free skin cancer screening clinics conducted at the Public Health Center, and his support of the "Girls on the Run" program.

Dr. Choi was recognized at Tuesday evening's meeting of the Macon County Board of Health where he received a commemorative award and certificate of appreciation.

In addition to Dr. Choi, several other nominees for the Public Health Hero award were recognized with certificates of appreciation. These nominees included Diane Brendle, Tommy Cabe and Jan Lee.
