Volunteer effort garnered 1,047 toys for Christmas.
Smoky Mountain Chevrolet hosted its 12th annual Toys for Tots ‘Cruise In’ fundraiser last Saturday afternoon, an event that showcased live music and a spectacular car show which displayed more than 131 cars. Randy D. Hughes, TFT coordinator for Macon, Jackson, and Swain counties, represented the organization at the fundraiser. “We took in 1,047 toys,” said Hughes. “It was enough to fill two trucks.”
Several residents in the community joined the volunteer effort to ensure that less fortunate children will have a joyful Christmas. Approximately 15 local volunteers assisted Smoky Mountain Chevrolet with the fundraiser.
