Franklin High School's small animal agricultural class is teaming up with Read2Me and the Macon County Public Library to host a fairy tale petting zoo for preschool aged children.

Parents will be attending a class presented by members of the Western Mountain Reading Council on how to increase their child’s vocabulary and instill in them a love of books. The parents will also receive a book called Extraordinary Parent and a binder of activities to use at home with their children. The parent’s class will be available in both English and Spanish.

While parents will have an opportunity to take part in learning the importance of raising a reader, library staff will treat children to a fairy tale themed story time that will be followed by a magical art and craft project for all the little princes and princesses. Read2Me’s Ralph the Reading Dog will also be at the event to sit with children and listen to fairy tales.
