Harold and Louise Crisp of Franklin celebrated their 50th year of marriage on June 8.

The couple has two children, Beverly Womack of Lula, Ga., Vickie Allen of Franklin and six grandchildren.

The day of their anniversary they were at the hospital with their family welcoming the arrival of their fifth great grandchild in Gainesville, Ga.




Ken and Alice Planck of Franklin recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family.

They were married June 11, 1948, in Anderson, Ind.

The Plancks are the parents of four children, Gary of Easley, S.C., Kent of Hendersonville, N.C., Paula Ellis of Maitland, Fla., and Kevin (deceased).

They also have nine granchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

“Country Folks Can Survive” was the theme for the Grand Ole Relay with dozens of teams signed up to raise money for cancer research.

Girl Scout Daisy Troop 02315 used their hard earned nut and cookie sale proceeds to visit The Biltmore House and Estate on Saturday, June 1, as part of the First Annual Girl Scout Day at the Biltmore.

The Biltmore Estate hosted educational presentations including butter making, folk toys and instruments, woodworking, blacksmithing, corn shuck doll making, a petting zoo and much more.
