The Rev-It-Up for the Vets Cruise-In and benefit for the Wounded Warriors project was held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Smoky Mountain Chevrolet dealership in Franklin. More than 100 vehicles were on site for the Cruise-In.

The event was the brain child of Bob Crawford, owner of SMC; Tiffany Tallent and Jennifer Gilbreath. Lots of food, fun and entertainment were a part of the event. Franklin favorite Keirsten Hedden and her band performed for the crowd. The local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America helped out with raffle ticket sales.

Volunteering to host a high school foreign exchange student is a life changing way to broaden your child’s world view. The Federated Franklin Woman's Club Annual Flea Market will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the First Presbyterian Church on Church Street.

The doors open at 8:30 a.m. with a variety of items for sale such as household decorations, a clothing boutique, kitchenware, bed and bath items, novels and recipe books, jewelry, furniture, Christmas decorations, and home baked goods.

First Baptist Church recently held an old fashioned baptism in the river at Macon County recreation park.

Vic Greene gave the Biblical basis for the ordinance of baptism before the First Baptist Youth Pastor Blake Arnold performed the rite.

Two young people were baptised, Alisha Randall and Nick Bellavance, with more than 50 people in attendance.
