News Education Local students graduate from college

Almost 700 students recently graduated during Gardner- Webb University's 2012 spring commencement exercises. Graduates from the local region included the following:

— Evan Moffitt of Franklin, who graduated with a BS degree in Chemistry. She also made the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester. The Dean's List honors those outstanding students who maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 or above. This recognition is the semester's highest academic honor.

— Jessica Dryman of Scaly Mountain, N.C., who graduated with a BSN degree in Nursing.

Jonathan LequireJonathan A. Lequire graduated from Clemson University on May 11, with a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Production Arts. Lequire is a Franklin High School graduate and has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Western Carolina University.

Lequire is the son of Susan Deetz, Vester Lequire, Jr and Jerri Lequire, and the grandson of Vester and Essie Lequire, Ruth Rice and the late Paul Rice.
