Sheriff Robbie Holland presented certificates of appreciation and participation to eight Franklin High School students chosen to participate in Boys and Girls State program sponsored by The American Legion.
FHS counselors nominated and recommended the students for the honor of going to Raleigh to conduct mock government procedures including electing a sheriff, representatives, and other office holders and conduct government business.
This honor represents the American Legion’s and the nation’s premier program to develop tomorrow’s leaders. Boys and Girls State is conducted in the summer months.
