News Education Franklin resident receives Mission Health scholarship

Cara Beale, a second-year graduate student at Western Carolina University, is receiving a $1,000 scholarship from Mission Health System for the 2012-13 academic year as she works toward a master of social work degree from WCU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.

Beale is the daughter of Ronnie and Cissy Beale of Franklin, and is a 2001 graduate of Franklin High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication-journalism from Lee University in Tennessee in 2006. Beale is among 24 recipients of Mission Health scholarships this year.

Based in Asheville, Mission Health System is providing $50,000 annually over five years to WCU to help recruit and assist a diverse group of students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit, promise and/or financial need and who are pursuing studies in health and human sciences.
