Mountain View Intermediate students in Sara Shook’s 5th grade class have been studying a unit on the Civil War in their Social Studies class.
Historical Museum director Robert Shook arranged a presentation on WNC's involvement in the Civil War.
Presenters brought a variety of artifacts including uniforms, weapons, lanterns, flags, and maps.
Students were also given artifacts to take home. These were prints of soldiers in uniforms as well as Civil War calendars complete with pictures taken during the filming of "Civil War Letters of Macon County," a movie filmed here in Franklin.
