The Southwestern Community College - Public Safety Training Center (SCC-PSTC) is accepting applications for the May 2013 North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy (BLET) Class #70.
Upon successful completion of the 744-hour academy, recruits are eligible for certification as a police officer or deputy sheriff throughout North Carolina. Additionally, recruits are eligible to receive 19 credit hours towards an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice through SCC.
SCC-PSTC’s high standards and additional training is distinguished and recognized throughout the State of North Carolina.

SCC-PSTC is also accepting applications for the Fire Fighter Training Academy Class #01. The Fire Academy is comprised of 32 separate blocks of instruction. Completion of the academy will enable the graduate to work as a Fire Fighter Level II, in the State of North Carolina, as well as work with the USFS as a Wildland Fire Fighter and also qualify the candidate to work as a fire fighter in any IFSAC or Pro-Board Compliant state.
