News Education Bingham named Student of the Month

The Rotary Club of Franklin honored Jacob Bingham as Student of the Month at its February meeting.

Rotarian Patsy Parker, in her introduction of Bingham, noted that he was described by his teachers at Franklin High School as “an awesome person.”

Bingham is also a New Century Scholar, and a volunteer firefighter for West Macon Fire Department.

Bingham is also a New Century Scholar, and a volunteer firefighter for West Macon Fire Department.

Bingham, who is the older brother of Gabe Bingham, chose as his Senior Project a 5k run to raise funds for research on kidney disorders.

Gabe suffers from kidney problems, and was recently made an honorary sheriff's deputy by Macon County Sheriff (and Rotarian) Robert Holland.

Jacob Bingham plans to attend Southwestern Community College after graduation from Franklin High School in June where he will major in Emergency Medical Technology.

He is the son of Geri and Mike Bingham of Franklin.
