The math club at Franklin High School, accompanied by sponsors Dwain and Dina Picou, traveled to the College of Charleston on Feb. 25 to compete in the Math and Physics meet on Feb. 26.
The competition included 609 students from 50 schools in four different states.
The students competed in math relay, math brainstorming, physics brainstorming, varsity team competition, math sprints, as well as taking individual tests.
Franklin High School won the “messy desk” sprint, which was a problem solving activity.
The Gear Up program provided some of the funding for the students to attend.
The students participating were Olivia Boss, Sloane McDowell, Bree Steele, Eryn Sueyklang, Anthony Capaforte, Erich Baker, Nic Brow, and Tanner Piper.
The next competition is the Wylie Math Tournament at Furman University on March 19.
