Duke Energy has launched an initiative to encourage customers to sign up for the company’s Paperless Billing program and help others in the process.
Dubbed the “Go, Get, Give” initiative, Duke Energy’s goal is to sign up 140,000 new paperless billing customers, while, at the same time, contributing $3 per enrollment to various assistance funds that help customers pay their heating bills each winter.
Between now and Dec. 31, 2011, Duke Energy customers who currently receive their monthly bills via U.S. mail can sign up to GO paperless and begin receiving their monthly bill electronically.
Customers who enroll by the December 31 deadline will GET three free music downloads. For each new enrollment, Duke Energy will GIVE $3 to one of the company’s heating assistance funds — including Helping Hand, Winter Care, HeatShare and Share the Warmth — to help less fortunate families and seniors stay warm this winter.
“Our Paperless Billing program gives customers the convenience of online billing and payment that’s simple and safe to use,” said Jim Rainear, vice president of revenue services for Duke Energy. “The program is a sustainable business practice that helps Duke Energy offset the rising costs associated with billing and postage.”
“Last year, our customer-supported heating assistance programs contributed more than $3.2 million to agencies across the five states we serve to help families cover their heating costs. Our Go, Get, Give initiative is a simple way for customers to continue that spirit of giving while getting something in return,” Rainear said.
