On behalf of the Interact club of Franklin High School, I want to express our sincere gratitude to the community for its overwhelming support of our 2nd Annual Blue Planet Run project. I’d like to give a special thank you to both of the Rotary clubs of Franklin; it was because of their contributions that we were able to mold this into a successful event for its second year.
I’d also like to recognize the generous support of our community; thank you so much to all of the community businesses that stepped up for the cause, and to each of the participants who came out Saturday for the 5K race or walk.
And of course, a huge thanks to the great individuals who volunteered their time and efforts to help make sure everything ran smoothly; especially Denise Davis, Joan Lansford, and Katy Huscusson our Interact club sponsor.
When we began organizing the event last year, our goals for the first race were to get around 50 or 60 participants, and raise $2,000 for the Blue Planet Network to help fight the global water crisis. We had well over a hundred participants, and raised over $5,000 for the Blue Planet Network. With no overhead costs, Blue Planet will use 100 percent of this money to fund water projects all over the world, bringing sustainable access to clean water to communities and schools through the global Peer Water Exchange.
I am humbled by the enormous amount of support from the community in backing this project. It truly would not have been possible without your unwavering support. Thank you so much, hope to see you next year!
