On behalf of the Town of Franklin and the Franklin Main Street Program, I extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that helped make PumpkinFest2011 a tremendous success. This year’s event was the largest and best attended event ever held in downtown Franklin.
We have many people to thank for their contributions to the success of the event. They include:
The Fun Factory, Bonita Hamstra at J&B Disposal, Bo Bryant at Premiere Marketing, the Highlands Road Merchants, Steve Ledford, Denton Higdon, Reggie Perry and Macon County Government who helped us with our firstever aerial photography taken of an event, Sissy Pattillo and Farrell Jamison from the Town of Franklin Board of Aldermen, Mayor Joe Collins, Gerald Roper, Linda McKay, Larry Hollifield, Andy Alligood, Claire Suminski, Warren Cabe & the Franklin Fire Department, Terry Bradley, Steve Apel and the Franklin Police Department, Betsey Gooder, Tony Angel, Adam Drake, Patsy Parker, Jordan Sutton, Sterling and Lisa Passmore, Robbie Parks, Nikki Corbin, Everett Wright, the New Century Scholars, FHS Ladies Golf Team and the Macon County Historical Society.
It takes a community effort to bring an event such as PumpkinFesttogether. If I have omitted anyone from the list, I do apologize and know that you are still appreciated.
Volunteers are a huge factor in the success of any event. Very soon, the Franklin Main Street Program will be starting a new program that matches volunteers with volunteer opportunities. Be looking for further details soon.
