First, we want to apologize for this not coming in a timelier manner. During this difficult season of our lives with Gabe’s illness there have been so many individuals, churches, schools, and members of the community that have shown our family an outpouring of love, support and prayers. Many of you we know and some we have never met but our lives have been touched by your kindness. We would like to express our gratitude to all who have shown such kindness and love to our family.
A special thank you to Sheriff Robbie Holland, Lieutenant Brian Leopard, Judge Downs, Congressman Heath Shuler and the entire Macon County Sheriff’s Department.
On Dec. 6, 2010, Gabe was given a dream come true. He was sworn in as a deputy with the men and women of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.
Those who know Gabe know that it is his dream to become an officer, working specifically on S.W.A.T. We cannot express the awe and joy Gabe was blessed with on that day. He wear’s his “badge” with pride. Thank you for a cherished memory that will be with us always.
Our journey and battle with Gabe’s illness will become even more difficult in the next few months as he undergoes surgery and prepares for his transplant. Please continue to pray for our family.
Thank you and may God bless each of you.
