Vietnam Veterans of America, Smoky Mountain Chapter 994, would like to express our sincere appreciation to The Macon County News and Shopping Guide for their outstanding coverage of the dedication of the Nathan B. Henry Bridge on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.
It was an honor for Chapter 994 to be a part of the dedication ceremony. Nat Henry is an inspiration not only to veterans but to all citizens of Macon County. His sacrifices as a P.O.W. can never be repaid. All we can do is honor Nat in the highest and most meaningful ways, such as the dedication of the Nathan B. Henry Bridge.
Thanks to your reporting of this most newsworthy event, the citizens of Macon County who could not attend saw the high esteem in which this community holds Nat Henry.
Our Chapter, however, is somewhat disappointed that other area media chose not to attend and report on the honors bestowed upon Nat.
