Franklin High School senior, Ashley Holland, signed a letter of intent to play softball for Milligan College last Thursday, Jan. 12.
In her signing ceremony held in the Panther Den, several FHS coaches and friends of Sanders spoke on her behalf.
Penny Moffitt, head coach of the Lady Panthers varsity softball team, thanked Holland for her work ethic and positive attitude on and off the field.
Holland helped the Lady Panthers win a WNCAC championship last year, and the team is poised to make another run in 2012.
Holland, a versatile slugger that can play anywhere on the diamond, usually played second or third base for the Lady Panthers.
Holland had an excellent junior campaign, batting .437 with a slugging percentage of .606.
Holland had a total of 21 RBI’s, a fielding percentage of .944, and an on-base percentage of .474.
