The Franklin Panther Men's Soccer Team scored a 4 to 1 victory over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in last Thursday night's game. The four goals were made by Miguel Arellano, Jose Soto, Alberto Gonzalez-Garcia and Krash Gooder.

Their record now stands at 6-1-0. The next home game will be Monday, Sept. 17, against Smoky Mountain, at Macon Middle School, 6 p.m.

Franklin High Women’s Volleyball team continues to struggle. Monday’s game against Enka ended in a 3-2 loss.

Tuesday’s resulted in a loss against North Henderson, 3-0.

THIS WEEK IN SPORTS

TENNIS - Sept. 10, the team played 9 holes at Lake Junaluska Golf Course. Scores were Erin Campbell – 43 (tying her low score of the season); Sydney Pierce –51; Keirsten Hedden – 47 (posting her lowest score of the season – tying low score of last season). Franklin Team Score – 141 (lowest team score of the season and 5 strokes lower than last season’s low of 146)

CROSS COUNTRY - The Men’s cross country team won the Swain Cross Country meet Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Darnell Farms in Swain County. The team had four runners in the top 11. Harrison Conner came in third overall followed by Coulter Hall, Jimmy Yokel, and Kelton Bailey.

TENNIS - The tennis team lost to East Henderson Sept. 5. Lauren Richards and Lexi Kloeppel won their single matches. Franklin defeated North Henderson on Sept, 6. Those winning at singles Michaela Hilliard, Ashley Hull and Lexi Kloeppel. Hilliard and Hull won at number one doubles, while Carolin Schnitzius and Lexi Kleoppel won at number two doubles.
