The varsity soccer team has had a good season so far, starting with a 6-0 record before being handed their first loss by Smoky Mountain last month. Since then the Panthers have gone 1-2 with losses coming from East and West Henderson. On Monday, the team traveled to Tuscola to take on the Mountaineers with hopes of returning to their winning ways.

They were able to do just that when they took home the win with a score of 4-2. They jumped out to an early lead of 3-0 in the first period and posted one more in the second with Tuscola scoring two of their own. Riggy Hernandez and Jeremy Jordan each scored a goal apiece while Arturo Lopez scored two. Goalie Luis Jimenez had 14 saves in the game. Lopez was named Player of the Game.

Yesterday, the Panthers hosted the Brevard Blue Devils and Monday they will hit the road again to take on the Pisgah Bears who they beat at home, 9-0, in September.
