The Macon County Challenge teams will be holding registration for several teams to play in the Western North Carolina Challenge League Tuesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 2, 6 to 7 p.m. at the Industrial Park Soccer Fields. Bring a birth certificate copy and a refundable $60 to tryouts. Cost is $160 for new players; $110 for returning challenge players. Cost covers uniforms, referee fees, backpack (new players), and state registration fees.

Age groups for the Fall will include U14 girls, U12 girls, U12 boys, and U12 Highlands boys. U14 players can be 14 if their birthday is on or after Aug. 1, 2011. Each team will play four home games in Franklin and four away games in the WNC area. Teams will be formed depending on player interest, coach availability, and available divisions in the Western North Carolina Challenge League.
