Franklin Women's Golf WNCAA 3A West Regionals match was held Oct. 22 at Etowah Valley Country Club. The team finished with a score of 326.

All Conference player Erin Campbell shot a 104, Sydney Pierce shot a 110 and Keirsten Hedden shot a 112. Erin advanced to State at Longleaf Golf & Country Club in Southern Pines, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30.

Just five short years after the program started, and three years under the direction of Coach Sarae Thornton, ambitious young runners have climbed their way to the top and secured first place in the conference championship meet.

According to Thornton, Maleah Langstaff showed great leadership throughout the season, placing first in a majority of the meets. Langstaff finished third at the conference meet after posting her personal best time.

Heidi Shope came in eighth overall in the big conference meet followed by ninth overall Faith Bourq.
